The vision for this project was to take a generic tract home and turn it into a Proven├žal retreat. Many elements of the design were not yet popular in the industry, such as the outdoor fireplace, stacked stone walls in the garden, and the antique paver floors, so I was very involved with the contractors to make sure our vision was achieved. For example, there was a particular look we wanted for the outdoor lanterns, yet nothing like that was available at that time so we purchased them in Provence. While the design was ambitious, I was thrilled with the result: a groundbreaking design with traditional, Provencal influences.
